Sad to read about, but I guess it comes with the sport.

A
rider participating in a practice day today at Barber Motorsports Park
collided with a cornerworker on the track, and both the rider and the
cornerworker were killed.
The incident happened at approximately 10:15 a.m. local time this
morning during a practice day leading up to this weekend’s WERA
Sportsman event at the track.
The names of the victims have not been released, but according to
Birmingham Fire Department Battalion Chief C.W. Mardis, a male
cornerworker went onto the track to remove some debris, possibly a dead
bird, when he was struck and killed by a 33-year-old female rider at
speed on the track.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene due to massive head trauma and internal injuries, according to Mardis.
"No matter where you ride, what you ride or how you ride there will always be obstacles to overcome. Just ride smart, safe and most importantly ride defensively."
