    Misti Here Saying HELLO!

Hey Gang, My name is Misti Hurst and I'm a coach with the California Superbike School and writer for a few motorcycle magazines. I also race AMA 600 Supersport on a 2007 Kawasaki ZX6R. I love riding anything with two wheels, racing, dirtbiking, mountain biking, traveling, adventures. I also enjoy chatting on different riding forums, touching base with other riders and keeping up to date with what is going on in the industry. Looks like a fun forum, thought I would drop by and say HI! Ride Safe! Misti

Hey Misti!  Wow, you must be an incredible rider...  That's so awesome.  I'm hoping to do my first track day soon and doing that with CSS has been my little dream ever since I read one of Code's books..  The guy's a freaking genius.  Smile  Sadly you guys aren't in the area until next year I guess.. It'll be worth the wait though.  How long have you been riding btw?

    Welcome !

Just got into mountain biking and absolutely love it.  Looking to try racing out as well.

    Enjoy.

Welcome Misti.  Like Kawigirl said, we are harmless here most of the time (if you take the time to weed through a lot of the BS).  I think you will find that we are a well rounded bunch of people - different nationalities, religions, races, beliefs, riding styles, and 99.9% of the group gets along without any problems!

I'm sure you can pass on some wisdom and hopefully we'll meet you face to face at some point and ride with you!

Hey, Thanks for all the welcomes. I actually found the site through Google Alerts which lets me know when my name pops up. Someone here had posted up my write up on Toriano Wilson, the fourteen year old kid that was killed at VIR recently. I checked it out, poked around the forum a bit and decided to say hello! A question answered: I have been riding for 8 years now. I got my license in 2000 and bought an old 1989 CBR 600 that I learned on. I had never ridden a bike before that, not even dirtbikes, but I just loved it so much and picked it up quick. I started racing in 2002. Cheers!

    Hey Misti!

Welcome! I hope you find the site useful, or at least entertaining. I was hoping I'd see you at C.S.S. on Tuesday at V.I.R., but I guess you can't be present at every session. Pete Castanik (sp?) was my coach for the day, and he did an outstanding job! I think the world of Keith and his organization. I was impressed yet again with my latest C.S.S. experience. I envy your position as a coach.

I also envy your talent as a writer. Your article in Roadracingworld was excellent, and your thoughts regarding Toriano Wilson were beyond eloquent. Keep up the good work!

I see you are on the west coast and like wow, I thought I was far from the action.  Sounds like you've got your life figured out, and your priorities straight, LOL.

You're in Vancover BC?  I've got a brother there - though I haven't been to that city since I was a child.  Yeah, I've been meaning to ride my motorcycle across the country, but I think I wouldn't have a job when I return WinkSuper Angry

These days I prefer motards over sport bikes, but this forum doesn't make me feel unwelcome since a few guys here also ride motards.  The thing I Ideamight/i] try is Supermoto, if I ever got into track days or racing at all.

ADV Rider was great, when it wasn't so big.  When I joined, there was something like 1500 members, now there's over 100,000 which is now a good sized city.  So the problem is, when you post, you can't find what you just wrote because a few hundred people have just posted right after you.  Which makes  it kinda difficult to describe an adventure there.  I'm Tigerboy over there, as I'm Tigerboy here.

I just went back there, and gosh, I only posted a total of 10 times, I thought I had a lot more to say than that - obviously I spared them my over-thinking tiger mind.  And found this thread, I totally forgot about, which I had responded to, and you had started, no less:

I sure hope that wasn't directed at me.  C'mon, you must have been impressed by the post of Matt LeBlanc earlier in this thread - he's a very good sportbike AND dirtbike rider.  He and I are within one month of age, except he got the Hollywood looks and I didn't.  We do have something in common, though, we both like bikes.

Anyway, I did go riding, I went to the Veteran Nationals at High Point to watch the older guys race on Saturday.  Thing is, I was one of the few spectators there, the place, except for the riders, was virtually dead.  Kinda too bad, because it was quality racing for just $10 for the whole day.  Grr-r-eat deal.  10 motos, 2 moto format.
