    Sucks to be me

    Sat

    5/17/08

    15:15

Up till then I was a great day, Met up with the fellas for the first time in a long time. Brought my new baby out flat black 750 {Had her a week} had a great ride a lil short but it was good to see everyone. Got home around 11:45 chilled out, my bro calls me who misseed the ride and wanted to head out. We leave around 13:00 taken it easy still in the break in period nothing fancy. Had another good ride feelin good bout to head home and *** maybe even head out with the ol' lady, Say peace out and head down Joplin Rd. I love this Rd take it everyday to and from work, wanted to work on my lines get my mojo back nothing crazy still in the break in period.

Had a clean run for most the whole Rd not till near the end did I come up on 4 cars in a row and Im fine with that so far having a great day. Leaving a nice space tween me and the next car ( at least 4 lengths) Im doing 45. Some kid who had made a wrong turn in the service entrance of the park cuts out infront of me Im downshift and grab both breaks to stop and the ass got a lil slippery ( felt like it was floating ) I cut left to try and miss him and BAM right into the left corner bumper. Then all I know is im standing up from the ground in a daze ass hurting so bad ( made me feel like I was back in the Pen- LOL) run over pick the bike up and then it all starts to sink in.

Im ok I guess didnt go to the hospital - neck,tailbone,shoulders, and head are sore knees have a lil rash not too much, Was wearing my leather, boots and jeans. So all in all im ok and it could have been much worse but...

Cause I tried to miss him by moving left it came out as my fault the kid even told me it was his fault and he didnt see me, So now Im left with a brole bike and no insurance cause I didnt have full coverage just the minimun

    Broken

    Right handle bar

    Right rearset

    Fairing and exhaust rash

Wont start but I think its cause there is a fuelpump switch

I need to get her fixed and cant really afford to takr it to a shop, I dont care about the rash just want to get her running again

    PLEASE HELP

Damn man, I don't know what to say...

If the police report says youre at fault thats not going to help at all. But if the kid did agree that he was at fault would it not be possible to get your insurance involved with him and ask for a statement? He might flake and change his answer, but you never know. They might feel pressured and give in.

Did you get the kids info? If so call his insurance co and collect. As long as he doesn't change his story your bike will get fixed.

    But that's just my opinion.

check out the classified section on the wera board. you should be able to find stock rear sets and clip ons fairly cheap and common as most racers switch to aftermarket. http://forums.13x.com/forumdisplay.php?f=47

also have you tried starting it since the accident. most likely the tip over switch. so once you turn the key off and cycle it back on it should reset.at least thats how it works on mine.

    Re: Sucks to be me

sorry to hear - went through something kind of similar just recently.  Lucky for me, my cousin was able to put my bike back together and he did a great job (and it was nice because I got to learn a few things about working on bikes).  If everything falls through for you, let me know and I'll put you guys in touch - he works 50 hrs a week though so only let me know if you're in a jam!

Checking out the WERA board is a good place to look.

Not starting, I know this sounds stupid of me to ask but is it in neutral, kick stand up, kill switch on??

LOL yeah it wasnt starting cause it was in gear with the kickstand down

Put it in neutral and fired right up

    I think it sounds ok

Fuel pump sounds a lil strange but could just be its has like no gas

    Re: Sucks to be me

    You got my number.

Call it if you need it.

I am pretty reasonable with my labor costs.

The current and usual rate of now is BeerBeerBeerBeerBeerBeerBig Smile

I don't have the garage space as of now. Replacing the clutch cable on the R6 with used in stock part which will take about 25 min. And the forks are off of the FJ waiting for me to toss them against the wall and then down the street so I can run them over with my truck a few timesAngry. While I am waiting for new parts to arrive at my door for both bikes.

Seriously, if you need me, call me. I'll be there. I got tools and skills to get that non-yammie Geeked back on the road where it should be.

sucks about the crash since you hit rear bumper your at fault. since technically you were heading in the same direction. law is funny that way in va. even though its sounds like its actually his fault. real men ride bikes with rash. you lucked out. easy fixes from what you describe. now go get some insurance. i  hope you found out how much it would suck to have a big debt like that with no bike.
