    -=RIP Rider=-

This came out of the Anne Arundel County Police Department daily press brief.  Be safe everyone, watch that center line, and never drink and ride.  AACOPD does a great job on facebook as well as sending out daily PDFs of their press brief.

    Synopsis:
On June 27, 2009, at approximately 8:38 p.m., officers from the Southern District were
dispatched to the 5400 block of Deale Churchton Road in Deale for a report of a motor vehicle
crash. Due to severity of the injuries, crash investigators from the Traffic Safety Section were
dispatched to the scene and assumed responsibility for the investigation.
The initial investigation revealed that a 1985 Honda Shadow motorcycle was traveling
eastbound on Deale Churchton Road just west of Offer Lane when the motorcycle failed to
negotiate a curve in the roadway, crossed the centerline and struck a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt that
was traveling in the westbound lane. The impact caused the operator of the motorcycle to be
    separated from the vehicle.
The driver of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene
by Anne Arundel County Paramedic 2. The driver of the Cobalt complained of minor injuries, but
refused to be transported to the hospital. The initial investigation indicated that excessive speed
and alcohol may have been factors in this crash. The operator of the motorcycle was wearing a
D.O.T. approved helmet at the time of the crash.

RIP.... gotta watch those right-handers, as crossing the centerline can end badly... and riding drunk is a big no-no.
