Sure are and many more to come. Obvious reasons for it.

Yesterday we were approached by a unmarked car at the Exxon on 211 warning me about crashes up the mountain. Advised we take it easy if we do go up.

    RIP to this rider.

A group of us were pulled over on 211, an unamed person was issued a citation for speeding, the rest of us were given warnings because we didn't run from him. After giving us our documents back, he asked if were were on our way to the mountain, and to be careful because they get alot of crashes with sportbikes trying to ride as fast as they can thru there.

As I read on line (forgot where), there were two other people were arrested linking to this fatal crash. They said they were racing at hi-speed. I can understand the racing, but no helmet is a NoNo (Don't know how Florida people do it).Devil

    RIP

It was not this crash but another crash in Manchester Bridge in Richmond that I was reading about. Sorry for the wrong comment above. Just in case you are wondering here is the quote:

"Two men were arrested last night and charged with reckless driving in connection with Tuesday's fatal motorcycle crash on the Manchester Bridge in downtown Richmond.

Joseph Christopher Greene, 32, of the 3900 block of Glenwood Avenue in Richmond, and Jorge J. Diaz Jr., 32, of the 4500 block of Hunter Landing Drive in Chesterfield County, have each been charged with reckless driving by engaging in a race between two or more motor vehicles on a highway. The charge is a misdemeanor.

Bradley James Ferguson, 21, of Glen Allen, died around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday after his motorcycle crashed on the bridge.

The wreck closed the southbound lanes of the bridge for about six hours while a crash team investigated, forcing evening commuters to seek alternate routes across the James River."

Nope... As statically ALLOT of  accidents happens near the home - as folks are either NOT paying attention and on autopilot (ie not as observant) or are occupied elsewhere. This can be the rider or other cagers on the road... It takes all of what a minute to put on a helmet, jacket and gloves, which is usually what I do when the bike warms up - which is something that should be done in any event so no time is lost...

I am not saying he was a squid and I am sorry that it happened - RIP to the rider - but the cirumstances under which everything happened do kind of scream "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"

You can get killed in your driveway if you hit your head witout a helmet.  What was it two years ago there was a death in the paddock of a trackday.  Poor dude was riding his bike to tech without his helmet, highsided himself on cold race tires going almost 0 mph.  Dead Wilted Flower

Yeah, I kinda worry about guys riding in the paddock without a lid.  I strap mine on when going to tech-in, I see some guys riding up with their lid balanced on their tank.  It's like that Ben Rothlesberger thing, you wear a helmet on the football field, but not on your motorcycle?  Don't make much sense.
