    Christian Sportbike Association CSBA

Does anyone here belong to that organization?  With all the sportbike riders here, maybe some are familiar with it?

Anyway, I'm somewhat of a fringe member, true, I don't really ride a sportbike, and I have trouble believing the whole bible.  I like to pick and choose.  Some stuff I love to believe in, other things are just too far fetched for my Tiger mind.  Side note is that motards are as present there as much as they are here.

But I have found they all take their religion very seriously, such as believing the whole Bible and living by it.

I have found it difficult at times to mesh in.  Let's just say they don't seem to share my sense of humor.  For example I might say something like "How can heaven be a place I'd want to end up if there aren't going to be any motorbikes or Tigers".  After a long argument later, they go on to say it is something that our little minds can't even imagine because of God's ultimate plan for us, who Believe.  Othertimes I make comments or jokes and it's pretty obvious they don't want to touch that with a 10 foot long pole, so later, I just go and delete those posts.

As a result I've had to delete an awful lot of posts there.  You know, the kind that generates no response, you know you said something not quite right.  Of course at dcsportbikes, you can't even delete your posts so you have to be very careful what you say.

I don't want to sound negative about the CSBA, AND THIS IS NOT THAT, but overall I think it is a positive organization, and certainly if you are a hard-core conservative Christian it is definitely worth a look.  And even if you are not-so hard-core Christian it is still worth a look.

Just your friendly Tigerboy take on it.

I'll take a stab at this. I believe in the whole Bible. And in the case of this example of a "sense of humor," the joke really ain't that funny. And not that it's not funny because it pokes at a belief system; it's not funny in the global sense of what is deemed humorous. Just FYI. Some people just aren't funny and part of being a comedic success is understanding your audience. I don't think you understand your audience. Don't take offense. Maybe you aren't all that funny Smile

I have not heard of them, but I will check them out.  I brought something like this up when I first joined and talk about opening a crazy door.  It is possible to be a Christian sportbiker...I am living proof....most of the time..LOL.

There isn't necessarily a conflict, but having all that power on tap has a way of tempting the rider to do things that may not be considered very Christian.

I think your assessment is correct, what I think of as funny, is not accepted in general.  I can tell, because it's very rare that I will say something in a group setting that will cause a great deal of people to laugh.  Though I get stoked when it happens, because it's so infrequent.  Actually on the rare occasion that it DOES happen, more often than not, I'm actually serious.

LOL, I'd make a very bad stand-up comic.  I would probably get more laughter just by speaking serious, than I would if I tried to be funny.  It would be easier for me to master motocross than to do that.

Anyway, comedic relief aside, it sounds like you should check 'em out, and here's the link to anyone else interested:

You mean like break the speed limit?

    Run from cops?

True... those "acts" definately aren't Christ-like.

    But they aren't "mandatory" either.Idea

Honestly, I really can't defend myself here.

I met them down at Jennings once...real cool ppl YesYesYes

but honestly there are ultra conservative christians (or any religion for that matter) anywhere you see...Honestly sometimes they are blinded by their own faith. Instead of bringing more bros and sis to Christ they end up driving them away due to their radical views of their own interpretation of the bible. (crap i just opened up a huge can of worms Zip it!)

I see no conflict of riding and being a Christian...who says just cuz your on a bike your a hoodlum?  Another example of the bad image that riders get from a few bad seeds in the community. I've done illegal things on my bike, my car, etc etc etc...no one's perfect in this world. If you're really going to say that bikes and christians don't mix....then by that logic, human life and Christians can't mix...which isn't true Geeked we're all sinners in one way or another. Its what we choose to do when the temptations and challenges arise that define us, not what we choose as a hobby in life.

    Re: Christian Sportbike Association CSBA

Are not Christian's human?  Do they not share the same desires, temptations, wants and needs of all other humans?  Of course they do.  To suggest that they do not is ridiculous.  The difference between a Christian (as I see it) and a "non-Christian" is the CHOICE that they make in every day life situations.  They choose and try their best to choose the path that will glorify the name of God and let others know about his love for them no matter what they have done; to let them know that Jesus died on the cross for their sins (past, present, and future) so that if they should choose God then they will have a place in Heaven and continue life even after death.  A Christian can not do any of these things unless they mingle, associate, talk or establish relationships with non-believers.  Life is a gift from God therefore he encourages you to LIVE as if you are alive not as if you are dying.  The other alternative of course for Christians would be to kill and destroy all things that contradict what they believe in... a la certain sects of Jihad.... woud you prefer they practiced that method instead... it wouldn't be very Christ-like.

He didn't... Matthew 21:7, "They brought the donkey and the colt to him and threw their garments over the colt, and he sat on it."

He rode a colt into Jerusalem... when He returns, He ain't ridin' nothing... maybe a white stallion or a throne, but certainly not any kind of motorcycle.
